On the January 18 evening, I went to the Violet Flower Store and I had a conversation with the boss who is named Liu Jufang. I told the boss I want to work in the store. Boss Liu asked me how old I was, I answered I was 17. She said she would let me work in her store because I was just 17. In China, a 16-year-old kid could start doing some easy jobs. Boss Liu told me I could start working next day.
On the January 19 morning 7:30 am, I arrived Violet Flower Store to work. When I arrived the store, Boss Liu had already been in the store. She introduced me to another three big sisters: Sister Jiang, Sister Feng, Sister Li and Sister Ting. I would not be taught how to wrap flowers at the first day. I was taught how to make silk ribbon flowers which is used to bind and ornament bouquets. I also need help workers do chores while they were busy. If there were no customers in the store, I should sweep the floor and practice making silk ribbon flowers.
On the January 20, I was taught how to wrap flowers. Boss Liu asked Sister Ting to teach me, and I must wrap a bouquet. At first, I felt very happy because I could learn how to wrap flowers. However, I did not know which kind of flowers I should use. I asked helping from Sister Ting. She suggested me use three Pink Roses. She said we should wrap a circular bouquet. At the beginning, we can use three Pink Roses to finalize the design. And then, put others around the three Pink Roses. I tried again and again, but I could not make the bouquet in to circular type. After a moment, Sister Ting said if I could not make it into circular type, I could use Red Sunflowers to help myself. After I put six Red Sunflowers, Sister Ting helped me to make it in a beautiful circular type. I chose violet wrapping papers and a violet silk ribbon flower. When Boss Liu came, we asked she to find which one was made by me. She found out it very soon because bouquets which were made by workers were more beautiful than mine. However, Boss Liu still thought I finished it very well. At the rest of my working time, I tried to wrap flowers again. Although I could not finish the bouquet by myself, I still had a big improvement than before.
On the January 21, I had my first selling experience. I sold out some red packets by myself. I remembered the prices of the red packets so that I did not need ask other workers.
I think it was a really good experience of me. When I go to university aboard, I can do a part-time job better. I would not be too worried. I am glad I could find a different kind of jobs next time. Good Luck!
