Activities in DIY Club
In GCA, there is a club named DIY Club. DIY means “Do it yourself”. I decided to join the club because DIY Club would have many interesting activities, and Planning Teacher Ms.Bartell is the teacher of DIY Club, I spent a great time joining DIY Club.
Before Halloween Party came, DIY Club had a meeting in the GCA Library. The leader said if we could do something for the Halloween Party. For example, there was not enough money to decorate the whole Halloween Party. And then, the GCA Student Self-government made a sale so they could get money to make a great Halloween Party. The leader expected we could buy something to “contribute” our money. In the Halloween Party, our club wanted to make jack-o'-lantern. Do not think it was free: I remembered a pumpkin costs 15~35 Yuan, they were very expensive. DIY Club also had a ghost house that was 10-C’s classroom. If anyone wanted to dress up like a ghost, they could go there to be scared to others. It was a very interesting thing, isn’t it? In fact, I wore a white unlined long gown with red long party nails. I hided in black in the Ladies Room. While people were coming, I jumped out and shouted out loudly “helping”.
There was another thing we should do. GCA need our own uniforms, Design Club, DIY Club and others would design the uniforms together. At last, teachers would choose the most rightness one to make a sample. Of course, I designed the uniforms, and I thought I had been designed a very good one. I found I like designing clothes. However, I usually make the colors of the clothes bad. I do not know how to use colors to make the picture more wonderful.
However, I have to say there was something not good. For example, we did not hold very much. My first activity was making ceramics, but it was not true. The reason was there was no Ms.Bartell. Firstly, the leader told me we would go to make ceramics with Ms.Bartell. However, when I met at accident, the leader told me we would not go. Why? I felt so confusing. Must we need teacher?
In fact, DIY Club is also a great club. The reason is the club leader usually joins the most important events with club members, such as Halloween Party, design uniforms. These things will be recorded in our record so we could have a better chance than others. I think I learned many things from the club. Better to seek help from within more than without, better to seek help from learning more than within. If I wanted to know any importations, I go and ask. Do not wait! Express your thoughts by anyway, drawing, singing, writing or making a video. Try you best to do everything; do not say “no”.
The new term is coming, I think I will learn more in my club. The old term was leaving, I thought I am a good girl.
